Description
SAIC is hiring for a Systems Engineer Principal who will provide support the to the Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response (MESR) Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Program as it transitions to a Program of Record. The Systems Engineer Principal will drive engineering requirements and provide experienced systems engineering leadership for the engineering staff. This position is onsite in San Diego, CA.
JOB DUTIES:
Manage the integration of new capabilities into existing platforms, to include managing requirements development, performance specifications, prototype development and characterization, oversight of test plans, test events and test reports, and preparation of required Program of Record documentation.
Manage engineering traceability from functional and performance requirements to verification and validation testing.
Perform alternative solution assessment evaluating impacts on system effectiveness, life cycle resources, risk, and customer requirements.
Oversight of In-Service Engineering Agent functions, including fleet performance analytics, failure analysis, root cause analysis, and solution development and implementation.
Manage the implementation and fielding of new capabilities to fleet customers.
Manage the evaluation of proposed pre-planned production improvements.
Work with stakeholders, to include program office, fleet customers and original equipment manufacturers to keep all engineering aspects of the project on track.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Served as a Senior Systems Engineer or Lead Systems Engineer on a Program of Record project.
Familiar with the implementation of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) framework for architecture design and capability integration.
Familiar with full engineering Lifecyle management.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver decision-maker level information in multiple written and oral formats. Demonstrated ability to convey team tasking and direction to team members in a succinct, digestible format that produces the desired results.
Manage complex schedules and timelines. Deconflict time, personnel, and material issues to ensure successful completion of all events.
Strong leadership and team building skills. Efficient management of personnel and tasks.
Project engineering background is a plus.
Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
