Position summary: Responsible for the Highways practice in the Tampa office including supervising staff and development and execution of a strategic plan. Also responsible for project management including delivering all project objectives for assigned projects including; scope, schedule and budget.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate strategic growth plan with office leader, regional manager and practice leaders

  • Establish and grow market presence through marketing and business development activities

  • Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly

  • Lead and contribute to the production of proposals

  • Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff

  • Establish resources staffing needs for the section

  • Interview and hire staff for the section

  • Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required SkillsRequired Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program

  • Professional Engineer License

  • 10+ years' experience in specialized discipline

  • Project management and business development experience

  • Proven FDOT PM experience and the ability to win work with a variety of clients

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications Preferred

  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level

  • Project management and business development experience

  • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams

  • Supervisory experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
