Additional positions may be filled from this announcement up to 90 days after it closes. Responsibilities This is a developmental position. Work assignments are progressively complex and intended to broaden your skills and provide you with practical experience to prepare you to perform at the target grade level. At the target grade level, Serve as a working leader over a group of three or more employees performing store-level work in accounts and price maintenance ( commissary support) and supply technician work classified at the GS-2005-05 level. Position responsibilities include: Performs account maintenance, computer operations, supply clerical duties, and other clerical support to the commissary management team. Distributes and balances the workload among employees, assuring timely accomplishment of the assigned workload. Monitors the status and progress of work and makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities. Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques. Gives on-the-job training to new employees. Checks on work in progress. Spot checks work not requiring regular reviews and reviews completed work. Amends and rejects work not meeting established standards. Recommends changes in work methods that will improve timeliness and/or quality of work. Monitors working conditions, resolves simple, informal complaints of employees, and assists the supervisor in preparing schedules. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess (A) 1 year of general experience at the GS-04, OR (B) must have completed four years of education beyond the high school level from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education (https://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/) and in an appropriate field of study as described elsewhere in this announcement. OR A combination of experience and education equaling 100% of the qualifications. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 120. Add the two percentages. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. See the OPM Qualification Standards for more information. Additionally, by the announcement closing date, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest nontemporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens." Examples of qualifying experience: Oversight of lower graded workers Providing on-the-job training Knowledge of departments within a grocery store (dairy, grocery, meat, produce, etc.) Knowledge in running a cash register You must also meet the following requirements by the announcement closing date: Current and former federal employees in either the competitive or excepted service and current federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade. You must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level to be eligible for promotion. You must submit SF50s with your application package to verify you held the next lower grade level for at least 52 weeks. You may need to submit two (2) or more SF50s. Examples of appropriate SF 50s include Promotion, Reg WRI, and SF 50s effective more than 52 weeks ago. The next lower grade level for this position is GS-04. If using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show a private organization specializing in interpreting foreign education programs has deemed the foreign education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or show that a U.S. accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses.
