Job Summary
Dominion Energy is looking to add a Business Performance Analyst or Senior Business Performance Analyst to our team. The person in this position will define and develop performance metrics, analyze, and recommend data collection process improvements, and ensure data integrity as it relates to reporting and analytics. This person will prepare, analyze, and present financial case studies for a business process, and identify and implement better work and business processes. This role will develop cost/allocation and cost/benefit programs and models to support the development of business strategies and implement automated methods and systems to track workflow and performance efficiencies. This person will perform varied analyses of an economic, business, and engineering nature.
In this position you will:
Develop various metrics and tools aimed at measuring grid planning and asset strategy effectiveness through financial, reliability, safety, and other perspectives.
Manage constantly changing data inputs into software applications to correctly model future electric distribution system requirements. Perform data entry into applications and databases with the latest information and develop tools for visibility, modeling, and tracking purposes.
Create and maintain documentation of processes, activities, and progress related to the Grid Planning and Asset Management organization for team, director, and executive communication updates.
Provide data analysis support to Reliability, Finance, Substation, Network, and Project Management departments.
Support the Investment Description and Scoring (IDS) and Optimizer process and tools including, application and data table maintenance, application upgrades, testing/troubleshooting, and user documentation, and data analysis required for project scoring adjustments and portfolio analysis.
Translate project selection and asset activities into finance and resource plans. Support the Project Control Tool (PCT) maintenance and continued development as processes evolve between electric distribution Grid Planning, Finance & Business Services, Project Management, Design and Scheduling departments.
Perform other related duties including storm restoration related roles as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Business Performance Analyst: Minimum 3+ years directly related experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 5+ years directly related experience with an Associate's degree
Senior Business Performance Analyst: Minimum 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 7+ years directly related experience with an Associates degree
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to facilitate and/or work on multiple project teams simultaneously
Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making, along with knowledge of when to get others involved
Effective analytical skills
Strong computer skills
Proficient in application of business process improvement methodology, benchmarking, and change management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to complete assignments independently by collaborating with internal stakeholders, soliciting inputs, and consolidating data, ideas, and thoughts to develop final proposal or solution
Ability to act with a sense of urgency
Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with all levels of organization
Experience with Power BI
Experience with Alteryx considered a plus
Power-user skill set for using and manipulating Excel documents
Experience in database management, query, and creation
Basic knowledge of electric utility distribution systems
Basic knowledge of electric utility rate structure as it relates to customer projects
Available for storm restoration duties including out of town travel, working extended hours, weekends, and nights
Education Requirements
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
