Title: WMS ADMINISTRATOR MANAGER IN TRAINING Location: United States-Virginia-Suffolk Job Number: 2200048M Job Summary: Trains under the guidance of GM and WMS Manager of a DC, in close collaboration with the Distribution Automated Systems Administrator, to master the efficient use of RWMS applications in a manual or limited conveyor OCONUS or CONUS mechanized Conveyor Distribution Center/Warehouse. Monitors work processes and results. Takes action to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the RWMS System utilization. Observes day to day operations to identify trends. Responsible for semi-annual and mock inventory accuracy and shrink. Duties and Responsibilities: - Uses the MIT Training guide and plan to master all duties of an RWMS administrator. - With GM guidance is responsible for the semi-annual and monthly mock inventory physical and financial inventory accuracy. - May have Ships Stores 1Q Program responsibilities - Identifies problem areas related to the use of RWMS applications in the Distribution Center/Warehouse and recommends corrective action. - Recommends changes in operating procedures and/or process flow necessary to improve overall operating performance and throughput. - Oversees procedures related to inventory control and slot accuracy to ensure ongoing synchronization of inventory counts and/or system on hand inventories. - Monitors, investigates and resolves all incomplete receipts, put ways, replenishments, pick tasks, ship confirmation, etc. - Creates and utilizes WMS reports and screens that reflect all transactions for the purpose of determining causes of delays and/or errors. - Reviews the characteristics of stock carried in warehouse storage, i.e. velocity, number of storage locations required, type of storage best suited, out of tolerance amounts of inventory, etc. Recommends appropriate actions to preclude exceeding design capability of storage area/rack type. - Develops training plans and conducts OJT/classroom training. - Supervises Inventory Supply Clerks - Performs other related duties as assigned. TDY EXPECTATION: must be prepared to go TDY to support training requirements as part of the program for up to 90 days. MOBILITY EXPECTATION: Mobility is a condition of consideration and all associates will be required to sign a statement of mobility for this program participation. RELOCATION EXPECTATION: When the associate has successfully completed the training plan and meets the target position minimum qualification requirements, the associate must be prepared to accept assignment to a Distribution Center in a Conus or Oconus location. Associates will be afforded relocation allowances in accordance with JTR unless otherwise indicated. - Travel, which may equate to 50% of time is necessary for program participation and completion. Qualifications: Requires a total of 5 years of experience: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in administrative, professional, investigative, or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge in distribution center and/or retail merchandising operations functioning within an automated systems environment. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : One year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four-year bachelors degree for 3 years of general experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Two years of progressively responsible experience which provided a knowledge of Distribution Center operating procedures and familiarity with inventory control methods within a computerized environment; ability to understand computer applications that drive Distribution Center functions; knowledge of computer systems and ability access screens, print documents, analyze data in relationship to merchandise handling and inventory tasks; ability to use reports that reflect all portions of the system to determine the causes of delays, problems, errors, and ability to use the information and data to correct these situations; knowledge of Distribution Center operations, i.e. receiving, storage, put-away, picking, shipping, and inventory management.
