The Role at a Glance
The Sr. Vice President, People and Organizational Development leads the company's enterprise talent strategy, organizational development, internal mobility (ex Succession Planning) and employee experience. In addition, they serve as a talent consultant/advisor to the business and business unit's HRBPs relating to, talent assessment, internal talent pipelining, succession readiness, development planning and culture to ensure business talent needs are met. As the Head of Talent this individual will also be responsible for -getting to know- talent across the enterprise and serving as career advisor.
What you'll be doing
Develops an overall strategic vision for Talent Strategy, Employee Experience, and Internal Mobility
Develops and manages innovative programs to, develop, integrate, and retain key talent across the company.
Serves as a partner and expert advisor in talent-related strategies to develop best practices and talent solutions.
Partners with the Diversity Equity & Inclusion organization and the business to accelerate diversity, equity, and inclusion by developing plans to achieve leadership representation goals, strengthen the diversity of the leadership pipeline and improve cross-enterprise pollination of talent.
Strengthens, expands, and manages the annual talent review and succession planning process. This includes leading efforts to develop and support succession planning focusing on approaches to develop a flow of talent across the organization, leading the executive leadership team talent process, contributing to the Board of Directors succession reviews, increasing bench strength for critical roles, partnering with the Chief People, Culture and Communications Officer on analysis of data and leadership metrics to assess opportunity areas for the organization.
Establishes organizational goals, objectives, and operating procedures for area of responsibility.
Ensures functional areas are meeting all objectives pertaining to quality, compliance, regulations, productivity, customer service, budget, and project management.
Ensures operational plans are aligned with division and Lincoln Financial Group's (LFG) overall business plans and specific strategic and tactical initiatives.
Ensures the effective implementation, integration, and execution of area of responsibility strategic and tactical plan initiatives.
Ensures the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including efficient workflow patterns; established performance standards; effective delineation of duties and responsibilities; suitable staffing levels; appropriate supervision; and systems for timely communication of pertinent information.
Ensures the documenting and monitoring of compliance related matters: meeting or exceeding all regulatory agency guidelines and standards as well as LFG internal requirements.
What we're looking for
A bachelor's degree plus 15+ years of progressively more responsible experience in Human Resources in a fast-paced, large, dynamic corporate environment, including experience in Talent Management; or 19+ years of equivalent progressively more responsible work experience in Human Resources in a fast-paced, large, dynamic corporate environment, including experience in Talent Management.
5+ years of senior management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholder experience.
Experience serving as a talent strategist and thought leader.
Extensive experience developing talent strategies that create alignment around in-depth talent planning, internal/external talent pipelining, succession planning and executive development.
Demonstrated consultative skills in a large, matrixed corporate environment with exceptional verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills.
Deep knowledge in the areas of talent strategy and related components, competency models and their practical application, approach for talent assessment and development, interpretation of talent data and leader development program design and implementation.
Experience as a Human Resources business partner in a large matrixed organization is strongly preferred.
Manages ambiguity and change. Results orientation with ability to build trusting relationships in a matrix organization.

The pay range for this position is $265,000 - $500,000 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
