T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Radio Frequency located in Overland Park, KS will be responsible for the engineering design and system performance of the T-Mobile Network.
What you'll do in your role.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and optimize to support coverage, capacity, and performance planning on the T-Mobile network.
Serve as a technical subject matter expert and perform in-depth analysis of new features and technologies including development, implementation, field testing, and validation.
Serve as a lead technical resource for the engineering design and system performance of the T-Mobile network, typically at a market or regional level.
Develop process and strategic approaches including capacity planning and growth strategies to improve market level KPIs by analyzing network statistics, customer complaints and coverage holes.
Responsible for the delivery of a training curriculum and implementation of a training network.
Apply advance data analytics techniques to analyze network traffic, forecast capacity growth, visualize and automate KPI reporting.
Monitor and analyze statistical network performance data and collect, process, and review drive test data and lead market performance activities including FOA and trials.
Troubleshoot network problems by analyzing KPI, reviewing system parameters and network HWs and work with operation team, switch team and other local and regional RF engineers to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
Address customer and employee complaints regarding service issues, analyze third party failures such as baseline and root metrics and take corrective action.
Participate with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance.
Provide engineering support to Sales/Customers and advise management on tactical as well as strategic issues.
Serve as the lead resource for market, regional, and national planning as well as performance tools as applicable.

Skill requirements:
(1) Performing RF Planning, design, and optimization for LTE, UMTS and CDMA networks for macro sites, small cells and in-building DAS systems.
(2) Troubleshooting system problems including SIP DCR, VoLTE AFR, VoLTE dropped calls, bearer drops, RRC setup failures, handoff failures, RTWP and interference issues.
(3) Analyzing traffic data, visualizing, and automating the reporting using MS Excel, Python and Tableau.
(4) Creating scripts and plans using Python and Shell for system updates, site integration, layer management and parameter optimizations including SON modules.
(5) Utilizing optimization and post processing tools including Nemo Windcatcher, Actix, Irishview, Truecall, and RF propagation tools and radio test equipment, including Spectrum analyzer and RF scanners.
(6) Analyzing and implementing new feature trails, field testing, call flow analysis and validation using TrueCall and Irishview.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
