Position Summary
This position reports to the Manager - Payroll and supports a multi-unit business through payroll and internal control functions. This position is primarily responsible for the day to day operations of the Payroll department, management of the payroll staff, oversight of compliance and payroll processing with ADP and management reporting and analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
Responsible for the day to day operations of the Payroll Department - including US and Canadian payroll
Responsible for ensuring bi-weekly payroll is completed accurately and timely
Calculate commissions and maintain outside commission data base
Work closely with outside payroll processor on all garnishment and tax issues
Ensures compliance with all payroll regulations; works closely with Human Resources to maintain compliance
Help m anage payroll vendor relationships
Manages relationships with internal customers (field operations, corporate management) for all payroll related functions
Routine maintenance/ownership of employee data within ERP
Help m anage annual W-2 compliance and accurate record keeping
Responsible for team member development and continued training
Ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries related to payroll; manage month end and payroll deadlines
Work closely with Payroll Manager to assist in sustaining growth and improve efficiencies within the department
Work to create cohesive teams that adhere to the core values of the company
Provide assistance to both human resources and accounting when necessary
Manage projects as assigned

General understanding of accounting principals
Strong understanding of payroll and accounting technology solutions
Strong technical background, ability to learn multiple systems
Ability to innovate and suggest process improvements
Knowledge of Payroll daily functions
Confidentiality, discretion and the highest level of integrity are required
3- 5+ years' experience in human resources or payroll
Bachelor's degree preferred
Prior supervisory experience a plus
Previous Experience using ADP Workforce Now or Workday strongly preferred.
