Title: LAUNDRY/DRY CLEANING INSPECTOR, FULL-TIME -$500 RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE Location: United States-Illinois-Great Lakes Job Number: 220003Q3 Job Summary: Responsible for the inspection of all pre-finished and finished garments/articles at the Laundry/Dry Cleaning Plant. Duties and Responsibilities: - Checks invoices provided by the Drop Off Station for accuracy. Verify that what is listed on the invoice is the same as the items received with the invoice. Where discrepancies are noted, brings to the attention of the customer to ensure correction is implemented and agreed upon. - Inspects all items for condition prior to being sent to the laundry or for pressing. Inspects for stains, rips, tears, holes, and flags extremely soiled or dirty condition(s) or any discrepancy not noted on the ticket. - Tags clothes following the established industry tagging procedures as specified in the written tagging procedures. Meets or exceeds the production standard for that area. Moves all items to cleaning staging area for processing once tagging is completed. - Inspects finished garments/articles laundered/dry cleaned for damages such as spots, stains, wrinkles, tears, pressing problems (creasing) etc. Removes garments still soiled, flags item for additional care, and returns to Dry Cleaner and/or Laundry Worker for cleaning. Notify supervisor of discrepancies. - Logs all garments/articles processed. Properly bags and place in staging area so deliveries are made in a timely manner. - Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who makes assignments. Performs within the framework of established guidelines. Refers problems to supervisor for resolution. Work is review in terms of satisfactory results obtained and compliance with established procedures. - Performs other related duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside where it is extremely noisy and usually hot and humid. Is exposed to the possibility of bruises from carts and machinery. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Stands or walks continuously on concrete floors. Is not required to keep pace with machines, but workers need a certain amount of quickness in hand and arm movement to meet production standards.
