Job Summary:

THE TEAM

The Marketplace Strategy & Operations team (also referred to as Category Management) owns and drives the revenue and profit performance across professional and college sports, arts/theatre, and concerts. The team is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies and optimizing critical business levers for specific categories or key marketplace initiatives, with an emphasis on driving ticket supply and sell through to drive hundreds of millions of dollars of incremental ticket sales.

THE JOB

The Sr Manager will be responsible for end-to-end commercial performance for marketplace categories such as NFL, NBA, NHL, Arts, Concerts, etc. or driving key Marketplace (B2C) initiatives that cut across categories. As a business owner, the Sr Manager will be responsible for driving revenue and profit goals by leading the development and execution of long- and short-term strategies and by working across all functions of the business including product, marketing, pricing, supply, distribution, operations, business development, and finance. This individual will also lead a small team responsible for conducting rigorous, fact-based analysis that result in creating and driving actionable recommendations to execution and demonstrating impactful results. The ideal candidate will be analytically driven with strong problem-solving skills, a high degree of business acumen, and the ability to work with and influence a variety of individuals, both internally and externally, at all levels.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Grow the business :

  • Be the subject matter expert for your respective categories, which includes understanding the fan, key moments of demand, and category nuances or organizational processes that bring richness and impact to plans

  • Identify actionable, fan-centric initiatives that offer financial value, competitive advantage, or improve scalability and drive alignment with senior leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of data-driven growth plans for your categories or marketplace initiatives to achieve/surpass revenue and profit targets

  • Oversee development and structuring of various business opportunities with varying levels of complexity. Drive insights and clear next steps from output.

  • Craft appropriate stories to influence cross-functional stakeholders to take action against insights developed

  • Keep a pulse on the business by monitoring the performance of sales and KPIs; work though others to detect and immediately rectify performance issues; identify and exploit opportunities

  • Lead a team :

  • Build enthusiasm and inspire others cross-functionally to buy-into your vision and help execute strategies

  • Manage a small team of direct reports; provide guidance/prioritization on work deliverables, facilitate ongoing conversations about career development, and foster a collaborative, transparent team culture

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting, strategy, or comparable analytics-heavy environment. Experience in e-commerce, technology, or entertainment/media is a plus.

  • Minimum of 2 years leading teams directly or cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization, influencing senior leadership, and managing multiple projects with demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and limited resource

  • Bachelor's Degree in economics, finance, business, mathematics, or engineering

  • A decisive project leader, with the ability to push a project forward, draw key insights from analysis, and determine recommendations and next steps

  • Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to understand the economic drivers behind a variety of business models and to synthesize complex datasets into actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated success in verbal and written communication with senior leadership to influence impactful change in the organization

  • Highly proficient in Excel and data analysis. Experience with business intelligence and/or data visualization software (Tableau, Domo, Lookr, Qlik etc.) is preferred.
