THE ROLE
Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Senior Graphic Designer, Apparel with an impeccable attention to detail and strong design sense to join the design team. The designer must present an enthusiastic view at growing and developing their craft. This is not a fully remote position and is based out of the Apparel Group's warehouse studio in downtown Los Angeles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create original graphics and translate intellectual property (IP) to products including apparel, accessories, collectibles and new categories
Work in tandem with design team to help execute seasonal and specialty collections
Design and layout graphic prints, patterns, photos, text, & logos as needed
Manipulate and recolor existing prints, sketches, illustrations, photographs, graphics, and patterns.
Research trends and designs in the marketplace for inspiration. Including (but not limited to) colors, styles, art, & patterns.
Partner with leadership to identify design trends, fabrics, materials, new decorative techniques, and product categories
Prepare tech packs, art files and renders to vendors
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Responsible of upholding design/brand standards and file naming conventions
Stay up-to-date on latest industry standards and trends for programs, hardware and design to better develop creative and innovative ways to make graphic assets visually engaging
Communicate regularly with Design & Product Development teams to help problem-solve where necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years experience in-house brands, agency or start-up design experience
Responsible of upholding design and brand standards
A strong portfolio of personal design work, demonstrating flair, creativity and a broad range of design skill
Experience working with leading brands, and a strong understanding of the nuances involved when working within guidelines
Strong, motivational leadership skills
Must be able to thrive in a unique, high-pressure environment, and juggle many jobs responsibilities
Must be motivated with an -Everything is possible- attitude
Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
Outstanding visual design skills in typographic, composition, illustration, branding and layout
Familiarity with current trends, culture and design in entertainment and fashion and apparel
Knowledge of the apparel retail industry, marketing principles and product development process
Experience with mood boards, drawing, sketching, ideation, detail product creation and visual presentation development
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
Experience with pattern making, draping, materials, trims, garment fit and construction and manufacturing is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments
Must be willing to travel to work and travel to events during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines and work events
