STARLINK LOCALIZATION LEAD

Starlink, our revolutionary satellite constellation, will deliver low-latency broadband internet worldwide. We are committed to offering access to high-speed internet to customers worldwide, and to providing a world class experience for all users.

The Starlink Localization lead will join the growth team that is responsible for launching, growing, and improving Starlink around the world. This team will be located at our Hawthorne, CA headquarters but may relocate as needs demand. You will be responsible for ensuring Starlink looks and feels native to customers in each market. The role will require building out and managing a localization process, working cross-functionally to improve our tooling, and researching and implementing market and cultural nuances.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the end-to-end process for localization projects, handling tight delivery timelines, communicating changes proactively, and monitoring user experience impact metrics

  • Maintain Starlink's tone of voice in every language while ensuring we respect our customers' cultural preferences

  • Actively work with localization vendors and internal reviewers, managing workflows, budgets, and expectations to deliver timely and high-quality translations

  • Work with several departments (e.g., communications, engineering, app, customer success) to ensure consistency in processes and tone of voice

  • Proactively identify gaps in the localization program, and design and implement technical and procedural solutions to cover those gaps

  • Scale language coverage across our website, app, and communications, resulting in repeated successful global launches and high relevance to customers all over the world

  • Juggle many projects in parallel and continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of localization processes at Starlink

  • Research and experiment with content adaptations to identify changes that better resonate with customers in each market

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years of localization program management experience

  • Fluent in English and one of the following languages: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Greek

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across disciplines and with multiple levels of management

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and a track record of successfully working cross-functionally

  • Start-up, consulting, or other demonstrated experience in high-growth, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences at all organizational levels

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills

  • Comfortable with autonomy, and passionate about building out new processes and tools

  • Customer-centric and data-driven approach

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to support extended hours and weekends when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and events as needed
