POSITION SUMMARY

Ensure that EHS policies and guidelines are followed by all the sites and departments ensuing a safe and healthy work environment. Responsible for leading programs that protect people from environmental and workplace hazards, as well as, protect the environment from human hazards. Embed a culture of Quality, Safety, and continuous improvement throughout the company. Must be able to provide support to departments to take a proactive approach to ensure compliance.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Lead U.S EHS initiatives, strategic planning and development and communicate to employees at all levels.

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve industrial hygiene and safety policies, programs, and procedures (e.g., hazard awareness, incident reporting and investigation, medical monitoring, hearing conservation, ergonomics, respiratory protection, personal protective equipment, thermal stress, ventilation, hazardous energy, material handling and cranes, powered industrial trucks, machine guarding) to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and requirements.

  • Keep abreast of new and existing relevant laws, rules, and regulations, and take appropriate actions to ensure timely compliance and communication to appropriate departments and stakeholders.

  • Manage the creation and delivery of OHSAS training content to meet regulatory requirements, provide employees with the needed competencies based on job functions, and to establish and maintain awareness of EHS initiatives, programs, and emergency preparedness.

  • Actively participate in incident investigations and the corrective action process for any and all industrial hygiene issues.

  • Manage and conduct OHSAS reporting in accordance with Federal, State, and local and company requirements

  • Respond to employee EHS questions and concerns providing guidance as needed as well as in emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate environmental, health and/or safety concerns.

  • Develop, track, and manage EHS Department budget and assist other Departments and facilities in identifying EHS budgetary requirements.

  • Represent Busch in EHS regulatory agency inspections, meetings, and negotiations.

  • Guide and recommend EHS activities and manage EHS data for periodic EHS regulatory documents.

  • Support audit contractor and EHS policies and standards.

  • Interface with state and federal agencies such as State Environmental agencies, DOT, EPA and OSHA.

  • Develop and implement Safety programs.

  • Other tasks as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Field of Study: Safety, Health, or closely related field: Required

Experience:

10+ plus years of experience in Environmental, Health, & Safety: Required

ISO9001 and ISO14001 exposure, implementation: Preferred

Experience in EHS Management Systems development and implementation, regulatory agency contacts and negotiations, environmental (40 Code of Federal Regulations; CFR) and health & safety (29 CFR): Preferred

ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, similar software or equivalent with emphasis on spreadsheets, data analysis and metrics: Required

Certifications & Licenses:

Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) certification, or equivalent: Preferred

OSHA 30-hour: Preferred

First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP: Preferred

ASQ certification as Quality Manager, Engineer or Six Sigma Certification: Preferred

Must maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment in compliance with Busch Insurance Standards PHYSICAL DEMANDS
