To support our global business, Luxottica operates multiple manufacturing and logistics facilities across North America to support our retail stores and wholesale customers.
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Manufacturing Operations Manager directs the manufacture of prescription eyewear in a high volume, mixed model environment. Leads supervisors and production teams to successfully achieve daily performance goals and objectives established by facility leaders. Maintains a safe working environment and promotes a culture of associate engagement that provides opportunities for growth and advancement.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Determines staffing requirements.
Hires and trains new staff.
Supervises direct reporting staff according to Luxottica Characteristics.
Sets employee goals and objectives.
Develops staff to maximize potential.
Evaluates current business processes and systems.
Plans and implement. procedures and systems to continuously improve operations.
Establishes and maintains controls.
Formulates department/unit policies and practices.
Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency.
Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports.
Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals.
Organizes and manages business meetings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
6+ years of experience in related field
Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
Knowledge of strategic planning
Knowledge of human resource management principles and procedures
Knowledge of basic economic and accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of office administrative procedures
Proficient in relevant software applications
Good oral and written communication skills
Good judgment and decision making skills
Good planning and organizational skills
Problem analysis and problem solving skills
