TEST TECHNICIAN - 2ND SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate structural, propulsion and avionics testing for major assemblies of the Falcon 9 Launch Vehicle, including the Fairing, Interstage, Booster Nosecone, Payload Attachment Fitting, Landing Leg actuators, and more
Install instrumentation, including strain gauging, deflection transducers, thermocouples and pressure transducers
Work in teams to complete mechanical setup of test stands, including electrical hookups, pneumatic hookups, use of heavy machinery to install components, use of hydraulic actuators
Operate a multitude of control software to operate test stands and vehicle systems
Perform major lift operations, including rigging and leading crane lifts
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation as needed
Develop and implement novel ways site-wide to streamline processes and increase the reliability of testing operations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
2+ years of experience using power tools, hand tools, or heavy equipment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience working with and troubleshooting mechanical systems
Associate degree
Understanding of basic electrical circuitry
Competent computer skills, including experience using MS Office suite
Experience with structural test equipment/services
Experience with pneumatic or hydraulic systems
Experience with testing process and optimization of test processes
Experience in ground support equipment in aerospace industry
Experience in the space exploration industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environments
Experience with crane operations
Knowledge of all types of borescope inspection equipment
Demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical manuals and reports
Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and customers
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Able to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed. Nominal 2nd shift hours (3:30 pm - 2 am)
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
Must be able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum
Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and able to maneuver in tight spaces
