Summary The primary purpose of a Teller is to control and account for all funds received and deposited daily as part of commissary store operations in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. Positions will be filled under the DoD DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) and are subject to the restrictions of the DoD referral system for displaced employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills and abilities) in the following areas: Factor 1: Knowledge of cash processing procedures o Task Statements Counts and verifies change fund and sets up cash drawers for the Sales Store Checkers (cashiers). Issues cash drawers to cashiers assuring proper action codes have been input to activate the cash register and cashier's account. Bags and seals cash and checks for security pick-up and deposit. Insures deposit tickets are properly completed and deposits are verified against the account. Receives funds in the form of paper currency, coins, checks, redeemable coupons, food stamps and credit slips. Examines individual cashier settlement sheets to insure accuracy or determine shortage or overage. Reconciles funds and compiles reports. Assembles individual cashier forms, consolidates forms and tapes to provide to the Store Manager. Factor 2: Ability to operate computer systems o Task Statements Operates the master cash control processer. Sets up office terminal(s) to conduct daily business. Reprograms the office terminal connecting the store cash register terminals to the master terminal. Ensures alarms are activated and checks alarm systems for proper functioning. Factor 3: Ability to communicate o Task Statements Verbally responds to customer questions or concerns. Education Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package.
