A Resident Construction Inspector is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Miami, FL area. The position involves overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, managing documentation and quality assurance, and coordinating between contractors and project engineers while addressing schedule and site condition issues.

responsibilities:
Review schedule updates for general construction logic, conflicts, and delayed activities or deliveries.
Evaluate contractor proposals for remedial actions to address schedule problems.
Monitor and report on work progress, seeking assistance from professional schedulers for unusual issues.
Provide technical interpretation of construction drawings and specifications alongside the project or resident engineer.
Lead or assist the resident engineer in the clarification process during construction, coordinating responses with project engineering disciplines.
Oversee the review, tracking, and distribution of contractor submittals, coordinating technical reviews with design disciplines.
Alert contractors when necessary submittals are not received prior to related construction.
Interpret contract documents for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
Evaluate change requests, claims, and cost proposals from contractors, coordinating responses with the project manager and preparing change orders.
Skills:
Soil and concrete testing experience preferred.
Water main line inspection or similar piping inspection preferred.
Certifications for concrete, compaction, and civil tests preferred.
Inspection certification preferred.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in a construction-related discipline.
10+ years of field experience.
