Job Summary

This role offers the opportunity to help Dominion Energy achieve its strategic objectives by providing business and technical expertise in evaluating our control environment, assessing areas for efficiency and improvement and communicating results to senior leaders.

Manage a group of audit professionals in delivering an independent, objective assurance and advisory service designed to add value. Provide day-to-day supervision of audit teams, including coordinating work assignments, reviewing workpapers and reports, and coaching team members to effectively execute the annual audit and advisory plan. Activelyengageteam members to motivate,developandretaintoptalentintheAuditServicesdepartment.

Build strong working relationships with management to understand their goals, processes, risks, and challenges to better position Audit Services to assist them. With minimal guidance and general direction from senior management, ensure the timely and effective completion of the annual audit and advisory plan in a manner that is in accordance with company policies and procedures, and professional audit standards.

Ensure audits are designed to verify compliance with legal requirements and applicable policies and procedures. Prepare reports for senior management on the results of audits and advisory engagements, including working with management to provide agreed-upon action plans and recommendations for improvement. Communicate audit results to all levels of management.

Participate in the risk assessment process with other audit leaders, including the development of the annual audit and advisory plan. Serve as an advisor to senior management on critical control issues.

Travel required: approximately 15 - 20% (primarily to other Dominion Energy locations).

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

8+ years of audit or related experience. (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more of experience will be rounded up to one year).

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Work experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm, regional accounting firms, or previous auditing experience for a public company a plus

  • A proven ability to lead, engage and motivate others is required

  • Experience working with SOX and/or internal controls

  • Knowledge of internal auditing standards, concepts and practices

  • Extensive understanding and a working knowledge in evaluating the design effectiveness and operational effectiveness of a system of internal controls

  • Sound working knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated strength in influencing and negotiating effectively to drive results

  • Broad understanding of business functions, processes, and systems with solid process improvement skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required to interface with all levels of the organization and to conduct meetings with senior management and external auditors.

  • Proven ability to manage expectations, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined above.

  • Military service members and veterans with a rank of E-5 or higher plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.

Preferred Disciplines; Accounting, Business, Finance

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or Certified Internal Accounting (CIA) preferred.

Six Sigma experience/certification a plus.
