Position summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. Successful candidate may also have the opportunity to take on Project Management responsibilities. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Civil engineering design of commercial and municipal related projects
Design of stormwater quantity and quality facilities that meet the state and local requirements of South Carolina.
Design and develop computations for storm drains, erosion and sediment control, and traditional and innovative green stormwater management infrastructure.
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
Develop construction cost estimates
Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Required Skills
AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling expertise including work with alignments, profiles, grading tools, corridor modeling, intersections and other elements of the program.
Familiarity with contours and grading including ADA site requirements
Stormwater / Drainage design and modeling experience for site related projects
Strong oral and written communication skills for preparation of project reports
Candidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Experience with Microstation
2D Drainage Modeling Experience
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
Professional Engineer License in South Carolina or the ability to receive a License within 6 months of hire
4-8 years of experience in civil engineering
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
