Job Description:
The Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation intern will work under the direct supervision of the Cardiac Rehab manager and the guidance of the Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist and Registered Nurse. The intern will be working with Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab patients, guiding them in risk factor management and exercise prescription. The intern will be working daily with patients and staff to develop their skills in exercise prescription, cardiac and pulmonary education, and emergency procedures.
Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
Performing initial evaluations in to the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab program.
Performing daily cardiac/pulmonary sessions, working one on one with patients.
Placing telemetry monitor on patients.
Collecting vitals: heart rate, heart rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels.
Present education to patients on risk factor management and exercise guidelines.
EKG interpretation.
Patient assessments - lung sounds, edema, vitals, wound care.
Learn proper supplemental oxygen use and titration.
Physical assessments - fall risk assessment and functional capacity assessment.
Understanding coronary anatomy/function.
Learn and understand cardiac and pulmonary medications.

Basic Life Support ( BLS) certified.
Prior internship in cardiac and/or pulmonary rehabilitation.

The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, as well as internal equity among our team.
