TECHNICAL PROJECT LEAD (STARLINK)

Starlink is looking for an experienced and driven Technical Project Lead to own ground network expansion, legal compliance, capacity planning and reliability activities. The candidate will draw upon their technical background and project leadership skills to drive complex and challenging projects end to end, with the goal of providing better internet access to unconnected users worldwide. The tools you build will allow Starlink to expand its user base, improve its user experience, and serve unconnected populations across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project definition, planning, scheduling, resource allocation, triage, release management, metrics gathering, and communication of objectives and timelines to wider audiences

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams and leaders across all systems - ground network, network software, site reliability engineering, lawful intercept and network operations - as well as interface with customer facing teams such as sales, sales engineering, consumer go to market, and support

  • Operations and capacity planning of network resources, including autonomous systems and public IPv4 and IPv6 addressing space for network infrastructure, residential and business customers

  • Work with Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) to support public IPv4 and IPv6 demands across multiple regions, including but not limited to North America, South America, Europe, Asia

  • Lead network operations and capacity planning recurrent meetings and work with service owners to execute on network improvements and capacity augmentations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or another STEM discipline and 5+ years professional experience in project management, program management, mission management, or logistics; OR 10+ years professional experience in project management, program management, mission management, or logistics in lieu of a degree

  • Experience with networking technologies (i.e. IP/MPLS networks, routing and switching, optical infrastructure)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Network certifications, including CCNA or CCNP.

  • Prior professional experience in an engineering role (i.e. software, data, and/or network engineer)

  • Ability to work alongside software, data and networks engineers to provide technical leadership and direction

  • Demonstrated ability to own projects from start to completion

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Domain-specific experience a plus, but not required

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines

  • Occasional travel to support program needs (<25%)
