JMT is seeking a Summer Intern to join the Interior Design team in Hunt Valley, MD. The intern will be asked to work closely with interior design staff to carry out an array of assigned tasks. The tasks will range from data entry, making changes to interior design/architectural drawings to design of small projects. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assembling data and assisting with problem-solving requiring basic theories and interior design fundamentals; utilizing computer programs to solve interior design problems; assisting with layout and design of routine small and medium-sized interior design/architectural projects, finish specification development or preparation, and maintaining resource library.

The intern will work with our talented in-house interior design team throughout various stages of the design process. Working in a professional setting will provide the intern real-world practice that will enhance their educational experience as well as prepare them for a career upon graduation.

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task

  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD

Required Experience

  • Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Interior Design/ Interior Architecture or closely related major, having completed a minimum of 3 years of undergraduate design school.

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
