The PR & Media Relations Coordinator assists the media relations and crisis communication team with a focus on issues and reputation management, as well as proactive outreach to news media. This individual plays an important role in local issue communications support for the Company. In addition, this person is also responsible for monitoring the Company's media relations inbox and maintaining its communications template library.

  • Monitor the PR & Media e-mail inbox, focusing on after-hours coverage support in conjunction with the Sr. PR Manager.

  • Coordinate with the communications team and internal stakeholders on media relations responses that best reflect the brand and authentic messaging.

  • Respond to media inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Implement and continually revise, as needed, the crisis communication protocol in matters of emergency, inclement weather, and/or reputational threats and opportunities.

  • Serve on the crisis communications team and collaborate to provide expert advice on issues management to stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Monitor news media coverage of crisis situations and provide briefings, news clips, and social media summaries with internal stakeholders.

  • Assist in monitoring social media and online reviews.

  • Assist in inclement weather crisis communications.

  • Support the development of internal and external communications on behalf of community and company leadership.

  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree required. PR, Communications, or related field preferred.

  • Relevant experience or internship(s) in public relations, news, communications, or marketing is a plus.

  • Must be reliable to handle confidential information discreetly and competently.

  • Ability to work a non-traditional work week, including evening and weekend media monitoring duties.

  • Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legal requirements.
