Job Summary
This role supports the overall analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of technical training programs for Dominion Energy Virginia.
Duties include:
Collaborating with subject matter experts to identify areas of focus for development of technical training content;
Ensuring technical training initiatives are in place to address any work task qualification requirements;
Continually assessing program curricula and other technical training initiatives to ensure content remains up to date and relevant to current work practices;
Facilitating department focus groups aimed at identifying areas for improvement (AFI) in employee development and program improvements;
Assessing and tracking development program effectiveness;
Managing technical training communications as related to SOP and work methods changes implemented by the business unit;
Identifying course learning objectives and providing course development peer checks and final reviews of instructor and student outlines for ILT courses;
Monitoring vendor deliverables as related to curriculum development and updates;
Working with business partners to document and track all training records for business unit employees;
Scheduling various technical training initiatives;
Attending industry conferences, working groups, and other academic venues to remain current on latest products and applications used by the utility industry;
Ensuring technical training programs and other enterprise-wide training initiatives remain consistent with industry best practices through interaction with electric utility counterparts, and other industries;
Remaining well-informed of regulatory requirements that may impact assigned business unit programs and other business processes.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined (above / below).
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and education required for entry into this job include the following:
7+ years directly related experience (with Bachelor's degree); or
9+ years directly related experience (with Associate's degree); or
11+ years directly related on-the-job experience;
Strong background in instructional design;
In-depth knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory compliance requirements, and company policies and practices;
Equally effective working independently or in a team environment;
Solves complex and strategic problems, takes a broad perspective to identify solutions, interprets internal/external issues with proven decision-making and recommendation skills;
Proficient oral and written communication skills (including technical writing);
Advanced knowledge and skills in use of computer program applications;
Strong organizational and project management skills and evaluation techniques;
Ability to address issues, applying analytical and abstract thinking;
Ability to resolve problems and to process information quickly;
Primary point of contact and/or subject matter expert for assigned training area(s) with an increased depth of expertise in assigned discipline.
Subject matter expert and main point of contact for systems that track and support assessments (electronic testing, field performance evaluations, or similar documentation). Acts as expert/technical resource and advisor to management and employees. Applies/demonstrates mastery of training technology, practices, and processes;
May lead functional team or projects with significant business impact within department, area, and business unit.
Strong leadership skills.
