Job Summary
*This position has a flexible work location and can be located in our Grayland (Richmond, VA), Herndon or Fisherville, VA offices.
This is an entry level position (T1) in the Electrical Equipment Technician series. The T1 position is the first year of an approximate 3-year training program, which requires participation in DE's formalized training program and on the job training. Certain competencies must be demonstrated to advance in the program. This position is responsible for equipment testing, troubleshooting equipment issues, commissioning and maintenance of substation, generation, and nuclear equipment.

Basic Electronics and Math Review
The position will perform tasks that support DE's service territory, to include:
Supporting LTC (load tap changer) maintenance, commissioning, and issue resolution
Testing and maintenance of various substation equipment (batteries, transformers, cables, breakers)
Provide testing support to generation and nuclear facilities, which will require out of town travel
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Required Experience: 0-2 years of directly related experience
Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications
Prefer knowledge of manufacturer and company equipment installation, maintenance guidelines and electrical test equipment;
Familiar with programmable logic controllers (PLC's) and electrical control wiring;
Good verbal and written communication skills
Abilities: Demonstrate basic knowledge of electrical circuits and components; ability to work under pressure; ability to carry heavy test equipment (with assistance as needed);

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined (above/below)
