Job Title: Clinical Care Specialist
Summary
The Clinical Care Specialist conducts reviews of Fleet & Family Services Program (FFSP) Counseling, Remote Clinical Counseling, Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) and New Parent Support Home Visitor records and provides observations and recommendations particularly regarding safety, mandatory reporting and sound clinical practice. Additional duties also include the development and facilitation of web based clinical training, facilitation of Communities of Practice and other activities which support Zeiders clinical and New Parent Support staff worldwide. This position has some flexible work hours and is a telework position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews records in FFSMIS to ensure client safety, mandatory reporting and adequate clinical practice. Complete Clinical Care Reviews (CCRs) of a monthly sampling of FFSMIS records for contract clinical Counseling, SAIL, and New Parent Support providers to monitor the quality of care and ensure compliance with the Contract and Zeiders Risk Management Policy
Knowledgeable in assessing and intervening in various forms of crisis and abuse using sound professional judgment, and ethical practice
Ensures that urgent safety concerns are immediately forwarded to a Supervisor for action.
Conducts follow up reviews to ensure adequate action has been taken in cases with urgent safety concerns.
Complete Follow up Reviews within one (1) week for cases that indicate urgent client risk or serious practice concerns
Complete expanded case reviews for providers who have demonstrated substandard performance as indicated by the Supervisor
Provide feedback and consultation during employee personnel meetings with the employee, Clinical Care Coordinator, Supervisor, site supervisors, and others involved in personnel actions as needed
Respond directly to routine questions from clinical providers regarding Clinical Case Reviews
Prepares summary of observations and recommendations for Supervisor discussion with the provider
Provide feedback and consultation during employee personnel meetings with the employee, Clinical Care Coordinator, Supervisor, site supervisors, and others involved in personnel actions as needed
Provides one-on-one coaching sessions for all new clinical providers
Utilizes the FFSMIS Reporting function to identify current cases for Zeiders clinical providers
Assists in the development and delivery of relevant clinical trainings in keeping with Association of Social Work Boards Continuing Education standards and following the ADDIE training model

Required Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from a graduate School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work education, OR a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from a graduate program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy, OR a Doctoral degree in Psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association
Licensure:
Clinical license at the full clinical, practice level to serve as an independent practitioner
Acceptable licenses are: LCSW, LICSW, LMFT, LPC and Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
A minimum of two years of full-time, post-licensure experience providing clinical counseling services.
Experience facilitating trainings or therapeutic groups
Experience writing case reviews, standard operating procedures, or desk guides for the purpose of enhancing staff performance
Experience with developing quality assurance initiatives to mitigate risks concerning clinical cases.
Ability to perform and document accurate assessment of the client's presenting problem using the DSM 5, and effective treatment planning for that problem that is within the FFSP scope of practice
Ability to synthesize the content of a clinical record, and assess and provide clear, meaningful observations and recommendations to providers regarding documentation of safety, mandatory reporting and sound clinical practice within FFSC scope of practice
Proficiency in oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop and deliver clinical training which meets Association of Social Work Board's standards for Continuing Education and the ADDIE training model, and effectively facilitate such trainings
Ability to work effectively with diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and collaboratively with peers and Zeiders/FFSP staff worldwide
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing Clinical Counseling or SAIL Case Management at an FFSC or remotely
Knowledge of Department of Defense and Navy guidance for the provision of counseling and advocacy services at FFSPs
Thorough knowledge of standard FFSP documentation requirements for counseling and SAIL casework
Experience with the use of the FFSMIS case management system
Knowledge of military and community referral resources appropriate for clients
Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite software
Live within 100 miles of a Navy Installation

Physical Demands: Works in home office areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Uses personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers and other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
