Warehouse and Inventory Manager
Job Description:
The Warehouse and Inventory Manager is responsible for all functions within a small, internal warehouse including: staff, order fulfillment, and inventory management. This person will be required to set processes to improve efficiencies, plan inventory reordering strategy to balance backorders and turns, and manage resource planning to meet or exceed service level expectations of internal customers.
To be successful in this role, the WH/I nv Manager will need to be a flexible and versatile team player that has inventory and warehousing experience. This person will be a critical member of the team developing strategies from the ground up and must be comfortable creating from scratch.
This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain and have a matrix reporting structure that includes the VP of Key Operations . It is an on-site role located in the St Louis, Mo metro area and will have minimal remote work opportunities .
Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
Implement operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and legal regulations while operating efficiently
Collaborate cross-functionally to develop warehouse strategy , layouts, and action plans
Develop and refine order fulfillment strategies to meet internal customer expectations
Set, re-evaluat e , and maintain min/max or reorder points for inventory to manage inventory turns while minimizing backorders to customers
Own best practices for inventory and shipping management to balance cost with service levels
Accountable for KPIs such as turns, on-hand inventory levels, service levels, on-time delivery, shipping costs, and inventory accuracy
Prepare and execute inventory audits and action on any items required to improve inventory accuracy
Manage warehouse team (4-10 employees) in order to meet operational goals
May require travel up to 10%
Strong candidates will:
3+ years of experience in a warehouse lead or inventory management/supply chain role within warehousing and distribution
Be able to discuss inventory strategies
Worked in Coupa for ordering and inventory management
Process and continuous improvement oriented
Comfortable in matrix reporting situation
Have experience with Hazmat chemicals
Ability to operate a forklift
