Job Description:
Job Profile Summary Provides a focused cephalocaudal assessment , health status and pre-treatment lab review prior to patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy & supportive treatments, central line care, therapeutic phlebotomies, and bladder instillations; confirming patient consent prior to treatment; educating patient on the possible side effects during and after treatment; administering treatments as ordered while assessing for and responding to adverse reactions from these treatments. The goal of infusion nurses is to provide safe care during the administration of high-risk hazardous drugs while utilizing acute assessment and critical thinking skills to prevent severe hypersensitivity or infusion related reactions to avoid hospitalizations or emergency department visits. You will provide care that occurs in primary and specialty care outpatient facilities, non-acute community out -patient settings; during tele health nursing encounters that occur in medical offices or by individual nurses in the home or business. Have authority, accountability and responsibility for nursing practice; makes decisions; and takes action consistent with the obligation to promote health and to provide optimal care recognizing that health is a universal right. You will interact with patients in concert with other health professionals, skillfully uses the nursing process to assess primary concerns, identify problems, analyze and integrate subjective and objective data, decide on a plan of action, apply the appropriate intervention and evaluate the outcome.

Current license with the appropriate State Board of Nursing.Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 3 months from date of hire.
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card to be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter. Oncology Certification in Nursing (OCN) preferred.
