Description
SAIC seeks an experienced and energetic Test Engineer Manager to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Assured Access to Space (AATS) mission. The overarching purpose of the program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future. This position can be located in either Vandenberg, CA or Cape Canaveral, FL.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the development of test & evaluation master planning documents that guide the team and the strategic test approach for the overall success of the space launch range(s).
Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
Manage a geographically distributed test team consisting of members on East and West coast locations.
Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions, which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.
Support analysis and simulation activities to ensure systems end-to-end performance.
Execute test planning, test execution, and test closure for requirement verification.
Assist proposal team in estimation of test tasking, resources, durations, and dependencies.
Assist project manager to set expectations and monitor subcontractor execution performance.
Develop and deliver test presentations to internal management and to the customer.
Interface with customer contacts for testing and other required tasking.

Experience with test method rationale, assignment, and verification.
Familiar with hardware and software testing methods and best practices.
Familiar with automated software testing methods and best practices.
Clearance:
