Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is GROWING and seeking to fill a new position of Service Manager - Amtrak. We are seeking an individual with Rail Industry maintenance experience to fill this role. This position will be based in Chicago and will support Siemens SC-44 and ALC-42 fleets
As the Service Manager you will support Technical Support teams to deliver the objectives of high standards in safety, performance, and reliability per the various Technical Support and Spares Agreements (TSSSA). Specific targets are to be aligned with the respective Siemens Project Managers of these TSSSA's. You will also develop strong and successful relationships with aligned customers' key stakeholders. Working with and supporting Siemens Field Service team to align with the objectives of the RAMP organization who have the overall fleet reliability responsibility.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Responsible for supporting the Amtrak Maintenance Manager and the Field Services team.The Sites and the Field Service team help support appropriately to meet the demands placed on them from the TSSSA agreements.
Develop relationships within Siemens to ensure there is the needed support from projects, engineering, materials RAMP for the Amtrak Field Service team.
Promote positive collaborative relationships across the team, with customer, RAMP, Projects, Materials departments.
Adopt continuous improvement mentality in how the Amtrak Field Service can operate more efficiently, effectively and driving increased customer satisfaction for the fleets assigned.
Provide feedback to team regarding performance, quality, and productivity issues.
Help coordinate performance, training, and career development of field technicians.
Promote to ensure best practices are shared between sites and shared with other teams.
Providing equipment or tooling for specialized inspections.
Tracking & work order generation and support for events required by OEM.
Support in analyzing symptoms, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.
Support in materials call out & missing part numbers.
Assist in documentation of reported problems & remedies ensuring their communication.
Using major/complex repairs as opportunities for impromptu demonstrations for Siemens / Amtrak learning opportunities.
Provide technical expertise to support investigations, performance monitoring and fleet improvements.
Support Version control for FMI's, Material, Software.
To thrive in this role, you have:
High School Diploma/GED.
Minimum of three years of comparable work experience to include rail industry.
Experience working in multi-functional teams in a rail environment.
Well-demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Prior application of continuous improvement techniques and principles.
Detailed technical knowledge, theoretical and practical operation of the system and components of rolling stock vehicles.
Solid understanding of maintenance management, familiarity with the locomotive industry, equipment, terminology, and regulatory obligations.
Demonstrated leadership, ability, and initiative.
Familiar with PM@Siemens, Project Management Professional (PMP)R, or other Project Management methodology and terminology.
Familiarity of OSHA Law and Regulations and the Code of Federal Regulations CFR-49.
Setting you apart from others would be a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical field of study.In lieu of bachelor's degree, a combination of education and relevant work experience within the rail industry will be considered as well.

The base salary range for this position in Chicago, IL is $108,400-$146,600. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
