Job Description:

Lead Software Development Engineer (Job Grade - 30G)

The Lead Applications Developer (LAD), supporting UPS.com, provides leadership in full systems life cycle management (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) to ensure delivery is on time and within budget. You will direct component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements and ensure compliance. You develop and lead AD project activities and integrations. You will guide teams to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. LADs research and support the integration of emerging technologies. You will provide knowledge and support for applications' development, integration, and maintenance. You lead junior team members with project related activities and tasks. You will guide and influence department and project teams. You facilitate collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads systems analysis and design.

  • Leads design and development of applications.

  • Develops and ensures creation of application documents.

  • Defines and produces integration builds.

  • Monitors emerging technology trends.

  • Leads maintenance and support.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of Experience with Java Programming and RESTful web services

  • Experience with DevOps, Agile Development, Secure Coding/OWASP Top 10, Web Development and Internet Development Architecture & Design

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Leadership skills

  • Comfortable with multi-tasing and resolving competing priorities

  • Detailed-oriented, Time Management & Prioritization Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field - Preferred

  • This is a hybrid work environment, onsite days are required
