Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial lawyer based in Arlington, VA, to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel - Network Connectivity supporting Amazon Web Services (-AWS-). AWS is a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com and is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services and more.

This attorney will work on the team supporting AWS's worldwide terrestrial and subsea network infrastructure. As Associate Corporate Counsel, you will have transactional drafting and negotiation responsibilities on network infrastructure and services agreements (e.g., long-term fiber leases, managed fiber services agreements, and agreements that support our subsea cable build projects) and provide related compliance and regulatory advice to business partners on a day-to-day basis. In addition, you will initiate, develop, implement and manage process improvements; advise on legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships; and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

Basic Qualifications

- J.D. degree (or equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar

- 2+ full years of legal experience as a practicing attorney

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills

- Experience drafting transactional documents

- Experience with commercial transactions, technology transactions, network infrastructure, telecommunications, or related IT

- Regulatory experience in regulated fields like telecommunications

- 2+ years' experience in a top national or international law firm
