Summary
Reporting to the COO, the Vice President of Operations is responsible for efficient and profitable operations through cost control, customer satisfaction, management development and revenue generation. Provides leadership, planning and execution of financial, capital and human investments to supports the organization to meet the demands of customers. The VP of Ops Leads a unified effort between various support divisions and operational staff to produce the highest service levels in the most economical manner in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies potential operational improvement and profitability opportunities, and supports on-going operational excellence, by:
Partnering with Operations Leadership Team to identify, prioritize and deliver efficiency initiatives.
Leveraging lean techniques and other continuous improvement methodologies to identify and prioritize waste reduction opportunities.
Developing Dent Wizard performance benchmarks through monitoring industry trends, best practices, and metrics.
Coordinating the distribution and use of strategic weekly and monthly operations reporting.
Facilitating review and identification of the Company's Operational processes, practices, and systems by working collaboratively with stakeholders in multiple departments.
Develop plans and processes for corporate Fleet Department and Field Leaders to ensure timely availability of equipment and scheduled maintenance plans are implemented.
Achieves results and brings out the best in people by:
Managing staff across multiple locations to deliver the department's strategy, operating plan and short-term objectives.
Communicating department goals and objectives and cascading them to others, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately to achieve goals and objectives.
Identifying managerial performance issues quickly and assisting in necessary development plans to address and correct problems in a proactive, respectful and fair manner.
Lead Procurement and Fleet departments and activities in support of company objectives.
Ensure compliance with corporate human resource policies as well as all pertinent employment, safety, and environmental laws/requirements, OSHA, Air Quality Management, and Fire Marshall to ensure a workplace that safeguards the rights and physical well-being of every employee.
Provides overall project planning and management support across the Operations organization, by:
Serving as project manager/project lead for key initiatives, while providing project management expertise and leading project reviews for others.
Representing Operations on key projects led by other areas of the Company.
Developing re-usable project and program management processes and tools to help drive consistency and excellence in project management.
Document and map business process improvement initiatives. Build Process Maps for all Business Process Improvement activities.
Manage resources (personnel, equipment, and software) to ensure adequate levels are maintained in order to meet commitments
Develop and implement growth and acquisition strategies by;
Collaborating with Operational leaders and department heads on acquisition transition plans.
Providing strategic coordination and development in ROI evaluations for capital expenditures.
Measuring and monitoring of investment outcomes in coordination with Financial Analysis.
Adaptation of processes to absorb new business.
Reflecting and communicating the company vision and values through personal behaviors
Supports annual planning and budgeting activities, by:
Providing inputs related to opportunities, priorities, and constraints.
Coordinating analysis across groups.
Review, interpret and take decisive action on financial and operational information; coordinate and develop periodic operational analysis with a keen focus on improving accountability and efficiency. Contribute operational data to the preparation of profit and loss reports for General and Corporate Management.
Ensure accurate measurement of customer churn.
A qualified candidate would have the following traits;
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships.
Direct experience with the pertinent environmental, health, and safety regulations affecting the automotive reconditioning industry (e.g. NESHAP 6H Rule)
A bachelor's degree in business, related field or equivalent experience.
10+ years of management along with a proven track record that clearly shows successful implementation of business strategy and results.
A firm understanding of financial results and material costs.
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
Credible and persuasive communicator and an active listener. Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to create reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
Proven success working in an autonomous environment.
Previous experience in project management preferred.
Must live/relocate to St. Louis Missouri area.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
