SR. COUNSEL
The Sr. Counsel position offers a unique opportunity to span multiple legal disciplines at SpaceX, including litigation management. This role will also provide legal review and solutions-based counseling to cross-functional partners on a wide variety of complex legal and business matters, both in the United States and internationally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all facets of litigation, including labor/employment, consumer, contractual, commercial, and other kinds of legal disputes
Administer and resolve legal issues that arise in existing employment, commercial, and customer relationships
Draft, negotiate, review and interpret a wide variety of contracts, including service terms, partnerships, and complex commercial agreements
Identify and mitigate legal risk by implementing appropriate legal controls as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school
10+ years of practicing attorney experience, including law firm, in-house, and/or government experience
Litigation experience
Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
First or second chair trial experience
Knowledge of consumer protection laws
Prior experience managing legal issues for a high-growth multinational company
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with other business groups and/or clients
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
