Summary/Primary Purpose
The Systems Engineer will be part of a team whose role is to design and manage complex systems over their life cycles. The Systems Engineer is responsible for design, development, integration, and implementation of MBSE solutions for intricate systems. The Systems Engineer is responsible for operational, architectural, and requirements research, analysis, and documentation of U.S. Department of Defense systems. Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts will be conducted according to the UML, SysML, and the Unified Profile for DoDAF / MODAF (UPDM) modeling standards.
Essential Functions
All essential functions of an Associate Engineer and:
Assist in requirements analysis and verification
Perform management, reduction, and analysis of data; design tests; and laboratory/scientific analyses, including interpretation of research results
Gather information relating to domain systems and operations for performance analysis
Support MBSE model integration and support migration over to new engineering processes that leverage full MBSE benefits
Develop object-oriented data model designs
Assist in the design and development of architecture models and simulations including operational, functional/logical, and physical models
Develop presentations for internal and customer design reviews
Verify and update system documentation reflecting the system and/or application design features
All other duties assigned
Required Education/Years of Experience
Bachelor of Science in engineering, cybersecurity, networking, or computer science related degree
In lieu of degree, three additional years of relevant experience
At least two years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
All desired qualifications of an Associate Engineer and:
NAVWAR experience
Experience with requirements development and able to write hardware and software CI level requirements
Experience with functional flow development and able to develop task level activity and sequence diagrams
Experience with modeling and architecture and able to develop hardware architecture models
Experience using No Magic's MagicDraw modeling tool suite
Experience developing basic model scripts, plugins, or report scripts
Certifications
Must possess or achieve one of the following certifications within the first year of this position:
OCSMP Model User or higher
Scaled Agile certification
DoD 8750 baseline certification based on required/recommended IAT/IAM Level
Other
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at a level that is appropriate to the contract(s) supported. Secret is preferred
Ability to work individually and with limited direction or within a group of peers
May lead one or two Associate Engineers in assigned projects
This position is mainly located on the customer site
