Job Summary
North Anna Power Station is looking for an Engineer I, II, or III for its Electrical Design department. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities
Electrical Design: Primary area of focus will be that of an electrical subject matter expert in support of an operating nuclear power plant. Specific duties include:
Development and overseeing implementation of specifications and engineering changes.
Review functional test requirements for equipment installation
Development and review of engineering technical evaluations supporting plant operation.
Additional duties include reviewing design implementation work orders and providing input to drawing updates in support of design development.
Post Modification Testing: Primary area of focus will be that of an electrical subject matter expert in support of an operating nuclear power plant. Specific duties include:
Collaborate with Design Engineers to review and incorporate testing requirements of engineering changes.
Develop test plans and functional test procedures to ensure test requirements are met.
Work with installation craft, site maintenance, and operations staff to ensure test requirements are performed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Engineer I - 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience,
Engineer II - 3+ years of relevant engineering experience;
Engineer III - 5+ years of relevant engineering experience;
Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals;
Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position;
Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives;
Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management;
Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.);
Planning, organizational and project management skills;
Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills;
Effective decision making skills;
Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing);
Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems;
Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices;
Equally effective working independently or in a team environment;
Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
Note: A partial year of work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the required years of experience. A Master's degree will count as one year toward the required years of experience.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E-3, W1, or O1, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience are encouraged to apply.
Education Requirements
Electrical Engineering degree is preferred. Other disciplines may be considered.
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technologyand a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Depending on functional responsibilities and location of position must review ANS 3.1 12/79, ANSI N18.1-1971 or ANSI/ANS 3.1-1993 and DOM-QA-1 as appropriate.
