Job Description

This is a new role within the Advanced and Emerging Technologies organization, for which we are seeking a broad technical, business, and strategic skillset. The team is a cross-functional group focused on early-stage technology exploration, prototypes, and trials with partners, customers, and startups across technologies including AR/VR, robotics, immersive tech, and drones. The team works closely with strategy, product, and technology experts from various internal organizations across the TfB and Emerging Business units via a focus on verticals such as healthcare, manufacturing, entertainment, government, and environmental. Your job is to look around corners and find the technologies, concepts, and companies that are coming next!

What you'll do in your role.

Advanced & Emerging Technologies is charged with identifying, scoping and developing 5G use cases. As the volume of opportunities continues to grow, this position is being added to partner with the LoB to focus on the education, environmental and healthcare verticals. Additionally, this position will be engaged with developing use cases around XR technology across all verticals. This position will be supporting the Become Famous for Network, Beyond the Smartphone, Win in Enterprise & Government corporate priorities.

Other Responsibilities may include:

  • Define strategies for the evolution of future technologies to support target network roadmap

  • Assess emerging technologies and opportunities including potential proof of concepts

  • Lead complex technology projects as requested by Senior Leadership

  • Drive industry leading vendors, carriers, and partners to align their roadmaps with T-Mobile's emerging technology strategies

  • Development of end-to-end internal roadmap and align across network business and consumer groups

The experience you'll bring.

  • Master's Degree and/or Ph.D. In Electrical/Computer Engineering Or Computer Science

  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Related Field Or Twelve Years Related Work Experience Post High School.

  • 7-10 Years: Prior Experience Working With Identification And Adoption Of New, Emerging, And Advance Technologies

  • 4-7 Years: Project Management And Project Implementation Experience

  • Innovation Development: Ability To Develop, Sponsor Or Support The Introduction Of New And Improved Methods, Products, Procedures Or Technologies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability To Analyze The Organization's Competitive Position By Considering Market And Industry Trends, Existing Customers (Internal And External), And Strengths And Weakness As Compare To Competitors.

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines -fully vaccinated- as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
