Job Summary

  • Provide services to nuclear generating stations in the area of Maintenance programs, projects such as refueling outages and preventive maintenance optimization.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of projects to ensure improved refueling outages and ensure better equipment reliability.

  • Provide technical support, related to outage schedule and activities needed to correct equipment deficiencies for improvement in equipment reliability , outage execution, and rework items. Individual will perform periodic reviews of industry best practices and compare the process currently in place for improvement opportunities.

  • Individual will represent the company and station in industry related committees and benchmark for improvement areas while functioning as an Outage Integration Team member.

  • Individual must be proficient with computer programs used to monitor plant operating parameters. Individual will assist management with contractual staffing and budget requirements in support of station maintenance efforts.

  • A knowledge of computer programs such as P6, Primavera, Microsoft windows, Excel are a bonus.

  • Requirement to work well with others in a team environment, problem solving techniques, coordinating, and public speaking.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 5-8 years of Maintenance experience that demonstrates working knowledge of maintenance processes, programs and procedures including Corrective Action, Foreign Material Control, Preventative Maintenance, Lifting and Rigging and the site work management system.

  • Must have one year of nuclear power plant experience

  • Enrollment in Maintenance Supervisor Training Program in Nuclear and completion of Electrical, Mechanical, or I&C Training Program as appropriate is preferred.

  • Must have good communications skills and follow through.

  • Must have good understanding of risk assessment plan process.

  • Demonstrates good analytical and troubleshooting skills required to evaluate plant events, identify causal factors involved and develop actions required to correct deficiencies.

  • Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to manage projects with multi-disciplined teams to resolve plant equipment issues.

  • Additionally may include budgeting, scheduling, developing bid specifications and negotiating contracts.

  • Demonstrates considerable attention to detail by evaluating adverse conditions and providing accurate updates on Maintenance Department performance for management presentations.

  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of maintenance fundamentals including job preparation, human performance tool use, job site behaviors, qualifications, training, craftsmanship and post job critiques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Dependent on sharing functional responsibilities for the position, North Anna/Surry must meet ANS 3.1 12/79, Section 4.3.2b
