JMT is seeking a Construction Inspector in the Denver, CO area. The Inspector will provide construction project oversite using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments.

Essential skills and responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders with marketing proposals

  • Assist in development of Project Management Plans (PMP) for assigned projects

  • Provide construction management oversight during all phases of the project

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of project schedules

  • Assist in the preparation and updating of cost estimates

  • Assist in preparation of project budgets

  • Prepare reports and logs such as inspector daily reports, cost to date, estimated cost to complete, submittals, RFI's, etc.

  • Learn to manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines

Required Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledgeable with CPM scheduling. Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project

  • Knowledgeable in construction testing, inspection and commissioning requirements

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architectural or a related field from an accredited engineering, construction management or architectural program

  • 5 years' experience of previous federal construction management experience of buildings and facilities

Preferred Experience

  • OSHA Certified

  • Experience working with governmental agencies at the federal, city, county and state levels

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 20% to 80% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required.
