Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Purchasing Supervisor to join our TEAM! As the Purchasing Supervisor, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support by monitoring and tracking purchasing activities for raw Materials, Freight and miscellaneous Spend, and monitoring inventory control processes at each location to ensure cycle counts are done as required by management controls.
Primary Objective
Plans, organizes, and manages Plant MRO store, Raw Materials and Purchasing administration.
Major Function and Scope
Inventory Control and oversight of MRO store
Monitors and tracks Purchasing activities for raw Materials, Freight and miscellaneous Spend
Requisition materials as needed for Plant Operations
Monitor inventory control processes at each location to ensure cycle counts are done as required by management controls. Maintain a record of inventory accuracy for each location.
Ensures appropriate level of spare parts inventory by monitoring and maintain MRP settings such as Reorder Points and minimum lot size. Monitor usage of spares to calculate optimal stocking levels.
Combined Inventory under control from $5 MM to $10 MM
Analyze and review data for purchasing savings
Review and update open PO report.
Review and update open PR report
Manages workflow for prompt payment of invoices
Coordinate with Management to create foreign and domestic quotes for material.
Assists Purchasing Management in communicating with suppliers regarding material and quantity requirement revisions, rate adjustments and incorrect materials.
Follows standard operating and safety procedures.
Keeps manager informed of any problem areas.
Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized.
Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
Requires a minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent experience. Ability to read and write English. Knowledge of quality standards preferred. Knowledge and use of basic SAP transactions required.
3+ years Inventory control experience. Lead or previous supervisory experience preferred.
Competencies
Core competencies include strong communication and leadership skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to train, motivate, and coach associates.
