Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: The Strategic Sourcing Senior Buyer will oversee all sourcing related activities and processes associated with the acquisition of materials and services of fresh food. This includes requirements gathering, sourcing, creating and issuing Request for Proposal (RFP), proposal evaluation, contract negotiations, vendor relationship management, distribution services management, contract drafting and administration. Functionally responsible for ensuring compliance with 7-Eleven sourcing policies and processes as well as 7-Eleven's ethical and legal business practices. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Source fresh food ingredients for menu assortment while managing to budget and maximizing spend via RFPs and contract/pricing negotiations. Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for designated categories. Implement vendor management and compliance programs including SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and pricing for products for fresh food products and ingredients. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and favorable terms. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues that arise. Analyze market trends, assess supplier performance, and evaluate the impact of external factors on the procurement of products. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and improve cost-effectiveness. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Stay up to date with industry developments and advancements in technology related to the procurement of products. Understand and recommend high impact projects for existing and emerging products and services that drive meaningful results: reduce cost and risk and improve quality. Provides general product and services management support to Category Managers and/or Product Developers. Interview potential suppliers and determine if supplier is qualified to produce and/or supply products or services. Includes a review of supplier's production capability, ability to meet deadlines, maintain quality food standards, and financial background. Work with supplier during testing of the product or service. Coordinates and communicates company recommendations and revisions for the product or service. Shares forecasts for ingredient orders and ensures timely delivery of products via distribution network. Provides ongoing cost leadership support to ensure lowest cost of goods and secure supply of product to store demand and margins. Project management - works with suppliers and cross functional teams to address product needs for various projects, LTO (limited time offers), and promotional plans. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years The successful candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or Food and Beverage. Solid background in retail, foodservice or restaurants, fresh foods, material planning, distribution, or private brands sourcing/buying experience with product manufacturers. Knowledge and experience of forecasting, supply chain, logistics, vendor management, contract negotiations processes. Candidate should have a strong sense of urgency, high standards of excellence, able to influence others and manage conflict, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, clear communication and follow-up skills, analytical approach to decision-making process. Proficient with MS Office suite- advanced skills in MS Excel. Possesses excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders at all organizational levels.
