Description of Duties:
The DRSN Network Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Be responsible for DRSN Operations and Maintenance
- Design and plan network communications systems
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
- Provide detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
- Conduct testing of network design
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
- Develop training scenarios and documentation to build expertise among team
- Document and enforce processes and procedures
- Have the ability to work individually or within a team environment to accomplish tasks/meet schedules
- Multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 0 years of general experience.
- Must have 2 years of directly related experience in one of the following: Red Switch; working with the DRSN and DSS networks (e.g., RS-232, RS-530, T1); various protocols for data transmission; DSX equipment panels and associated wiring, fiber optic cabling, connectors and termination techniques, metallic cabling
- Must have a DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE or CISSP)
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) indoctrination
Desired Requirements:
- Have Red Switch certificate of training, or 4 years of Red Switch experience
- Have strong technical and hands-on experience working with the DRSN and DSS networks to include engineering, troubleshooting, developing Local Service Requests (LSRs) and Change Requests, circuit diagrams, and line button layout sheets
- Have strong knowledge of encryption hardware used in the DRSN/DSS networks
- Have experience supporting an operational network, tech-control environments, crypto maintenance, COMSEC, or systems administration
- Have Remedy ticketing experience
- Have a current CISSP certification
This position is expected to pay $55,000 - $80,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
