This position provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for system-wide, hospital, professional, long-term care, and durable medical equipment billing, collections, patient accounting, and payment integrity functions. Collaborates with system leaders and providers, supporting the development and implementation of operational strategies for improved collections and patient financial experience. Facilitates positive communication and builds strong relationships between revenue cycle operations, operational administrators, clinic management and departmental staff and payors regarding revenue cycle matters. Key Responsibilities: - Leads system-wide hospital billing, professional billing, payment integrity and financial counseling. - The overall design, build, implementation and optimization of claims submissions, accounts receivable management, denial reduction, cash posting, underpayment review, patient billing and collections, vendor management, customer service call center and financial counseling for all Essentia Health locations. - Monitors and promotes new technology and ongoing innovative strategies to improve processes for teams and our patients. - Oversees development and implementation of processes to guarantee the integrity collections and maintains compliance with all regulatory and Essentia policies and procedures. - Builds consensus on major revenue cycle changes and new policies with peers and departmental administrators. - Works to ensure a seamless, consistent experience throughout the consumer-patient journey. Required Qualifications: - 5 years of relevant leadership experience. - 10 years of revenue cycle management or financial management experience. Preferred Qualifications: - Revenue cycle experience including implementing significant organizational change, setting performance measurements, establishing budget plans and monitoring process, strategic planning, program development and implementation, and process improvement techniques. Understands and can apply knowledge of decision support applications, data source systems and operational procedures and appropriate internal controls; human relations and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with management, staff, and administration; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent analytical skills. - Familiar with third party payer requirements including value-based care arrangements. - Experience leading large teams: call center management preferred. - Experience with an electronic medical records system, Epic preferred. - Experience with multiple billing designations and types (i.e. CAH, RHC, PBB, SNF, LTC, Ambulance, etc.)

Education Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
