Banner Health is currently seeking an Clinical Support Analyst I responsible for supporting the clinical applications needs at Torrington Community Hospital. The clinical applications support team member is responsible for providing electronic health record expertise and resources for assigned acute and ambulatory areas. They will be providing on-going clinical user support for various clinical and business operations teams. This position supports the organization's vision and direction for computer systems, workflow design, data management, and an integrated electronic health record. The Clinical Support Analyst I serves as a liaison between the clinical staff, clinical education team, Nursing/Medical Informatics, and the Cerner build teams to communicate user needs and facilitate system optimization.
The typical schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8a-5p but will occasionally require working outside these hours.
The primary location for this role will be on-site at Torrington Community Hospital An ideal candidate would possess a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of acute experience, experience/interest with information technology and clinical informatics in a healthcare setting, troubleshooting ability, time management skills, multitasking abilities, and strong communications skills.
This is position is onsite at Torrington Community Hospital. This role is M-F 8-5pm.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as a liaison to ensure successful integration of clinical systems and processes. Works with the applications and support team to develop and deploy best practices in utilization of clinical application systems. Trains clinicians on software and IT processes. Assists in the development and implementation of current and future clinical information systems, working closely with end users. The Clinical Support Analyst I collaborates with IT and other clinical or business departments across the organization to increase efficiencies and promote continuity of care through technology and workflow improvements.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Performs Outcomes Coordinator functions. Promotes understanding and effective use of technology through high visibility rounding, user group support, and coaching of end users. Provides application testing for system enhancements. Participates in solution evaluation, tracks, monitors, and enhances usage, and implements action plans. Provides visibility and support of clinical applications systems. May coordinate with other appropriate departments regarding downtime.
Performs Educator functions. Provides clinical application system training of end users as needed. Implements communication and education plan in conjunction with clinical educators and leadership for current staff to ensure changes to the electronic health record are implemented. Utilizes data analytics to support needs-based training.
Performs Consultant and Project Coordinator functions. Maintains on-going user communication and support to ensure user competency and obtain information on usage of the system and workflow concerns through established, regularly scheduled rounding. Collaborates with end-users to help define issues and enhancement opportunities within the electronic health record. Provides project support in conjunction with project leadership for the deployment and support of new and existing IT clinical applications.
Performs Advocate functions. Operational collaboration with users, service area leadership, and IT field services to resolve conflicts between workflow and the electronic health record. Supports staff in the use of existing technology in a manner which promotes maintenance of patient safety and confidentiality and supports facility-specific and system-wide processes.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the field of healthcare IT as well as new developments of electronic health record and associated technologies. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices, regulatory standards, and organizational direction. Utilizes this knowledge in supporting users and process teams.
This position must interact with and support all levels of end users throughout the facility or specialty area, including technicians, nurses, therapists, and physicians. Internal Customers: All levels of management and staff, medical staff, and other healthcare members for the purpose of integrating services, improving patient care, ensuring effective communication systems and facilitating decision making in clinical practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Incumbents must possess knowledge and experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree in healthcare related field or related business discipline; and have a license for a clinical position in a practicing state; or certification in a clinical healthcare setting.
Must have two to three years experience working within a complex and diverse health care setting.
Must be proficient in the use of system office applications. Must possess a basic understanding of integrated clinical systems. Must have highly developed interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize needs rapidly. This position requires the ability to convey messages and thoughts clearly to a diverse audience, using both verbal and written mediums. Requires the ability to promote change among large groups of workers. Requires the ability to coordinate information and activities, work under stress of deadlines and frequent interruptions, and to possess analytical problem-solving skills. Requires the maintenance of familiarity with clinical care processes and information technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in information systems preferred.
Depending upon assigned area of responsibility, position requires applicable certifications and/or licensures, including but not limited to: PT/OT; RT; Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA); Certified Protection Professional (CPP); Associate in Risk Management (ARM); Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT); Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM); Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
