The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
As a Midwest Business Operations Intern individuals will obtain practical experience and receive hands-on training in various aspects of non-profit operations including accounting practices.

Internship Overview:
Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
Internship Duration: 1/16/24 - 5/3/24
Remote Position: Mus be located within the Midwest Region (ND, SD, NE, KS, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, IN, OH, MI, KY)
Salary: $23.00 per hour

Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
Tasks could include things like the following:
Assist with developing training materials for MW Region Business Operations/Finance topics.
Assist with creating & submitting -Did you know- TIPs in weekly newsletter & other communications.
Work with Sr. Director of Business Accounting to generate finance reports.
Assist Sr. Director of Business Accounting with expense and revenue analysis.
Provide general support to the Midwest Business Operations team.
Qualifications
Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working with various levels of staff.
Ability to work professionally in a non-profit environment and assume responsibility for assigned tasks from inception through completion.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities.
Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Team, and PowerPoint.
Required Equipment: Reliable transportation.
Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
