A company in the Service industry, has partnered with Robert Half to find an Accounting Clerk to support a department. The Accounting Clerk obligations will consist of matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / contract / temporary position located in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area.
What you get to do every single day
Support Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
Upload financial information to journals and ledgers
General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources Requirements - Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
Ability to multitask effectively
2+ years of relevant experience
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
Daily Reconciliation experience
Credit Card Reconciliation experience preferred
Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel
Proven knowledge of reconciliations
Budgeting experience
Budgeting experience desired
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
