We have an exciting opportunity for a Fall 2024 - DOD SkillBridge Program Intern to join our team with the Engineering Division.
* This is a temporary role not to exceed 27 weeks. *

Cybersecurity Engineer, NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas
Avionics Network Engineer, NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston Texa
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you may be involved in one or more of the following activities:
Collaborate with the Network Engineering team
Get experience with the Spacecraft Avionics, Systems, and Network
Develop knowledge of the system design
Develop cybersecurity requirements for spacecraft systems
Develop cybersecurity requirements for Avionics Lab systems
Perform cybersecurity oversight and impact assessments
Learn to plan, design and implement Cyber testing and verification activities
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Coordinate with external organizations to perform cybersecurity remediation
Perform other duties as required
As an Avionics Network Engineer , you may be involved in one or more of the following activities:
Collaborate with the Network Engineering team
Get experience with the Spacecraft Avionics, Systems, and Network
Develop knowledge of Layer 2 Realtime Networking including Rate Constrained & Time Triggered
Develop knowledge of Ethernet and Layer 3 Best Effort Networking
Understand networking communications requirements for spacecraft systems
Perform Avionics Network impact analysis and present assessments
Learn to plan, design, and implement computer networking testing and verification activities
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Coordinate with external organizations to understand and plan avionics networking
Perform other duties as required
NOTE: SkillBridge interns will not be eligible for any compensation during their internship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. Upon successful completion of this internship, you will be well prepared and encouraged to apply for open positions listed on our careers page.
Here's What You'll Need:
To have served at least 180 days in any of the U.S. Armed Forces
To be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any of the U.S. Armed Forces (you may start your application prior to the 180 days)
Must be on track to receive an Honorable Discharge
Must have taken any service TAPS/TGPS
Must have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Must have command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
Ideally, you'll have:
Ability to obtain TS DoD security clearance
DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Security+)

Work Environment
