Position summary:
JMT is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Pittsburgh/Ohio region who has the desire to lead a mature water and wastewater section in a collaborative and progressive workplace. This position has excellent potential for career advancement, leading and expanding the water/wastewater engineering practice in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio and supporting national growth in the practice. This candidate will manage project delivery and quality control processes for existing and new client contracts, as well as develop and implement strategic plans for business growth with our internal practice and marketing staff. The candidate will be expected to work closely with clients, internal staff, contractors, outside consultants, and government agencies.
The successful candidate will have experience with the technical side of the practice and the desire to fully understand and execute the business side of the practice including business development, client management, workload management and financial performance, and staff development and growth to continue our tradition of providing high quality products and services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Collaborate on and coordinate strategic growth plan efforts with office managers and practice leaders
Grow JMT's water/wastewater market presence in the area through marketing and business development
Manage the financial budget for the section and allocate resources accordingly
Lead and contribute to the production of proposals and marketing tools
Serve as a technical resource to project managers and technical staff
Establish staffing needs for the section
Interview and hire staff for the section
Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams

Required Skills
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
Professional Engineer License or equivalent
15+ years' experience in specialized discipline
Project management and business development experience
Preferred Experience
Experience working with local clients (PWSA, ALCOSAN, Erie Water Works, Cleveland Water Department, etc.) and at the county and state level
Staff supervisory experience
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
