Overview
This position is for Continuing Education - Workforce Development program.
ECPI University is seeking an experienced UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) Operator to act as an adjunct instructor for their Part 107 UAV program. Duties include but are not limited to: teaching both online and in person to include Flight Labs, participating in classroom discussion boards, grading assignments , promptly responding to student inquiries, and other duties may be assigned according to experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
Gain FAA approvals for training flights.
Administer course schedule based on needs of prospective students and utilization of ECPI campuses outside of the Hampton Roads area as appropriate.
Ensure training aids and tools are in working order and request upgrades as needed to support/enhance student learning.
Participate in the development of online course content to supplement in-seat instruction.
Pro-actively identify areas of opportunity to improve program quality through curriculum revisions, identification of new learning resources, and relationship building with industry partners.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
3 or more years of progressively responsible industry experience.
Currently possess an FAA Part 107 Certificate
Previous academic experience preferred.
Excellent verbal, oral and written communication skills

Skills/Abilities:
Expertise in UAV filming and Sensor Integration.
Knowledge of flight controls, aerodynamics, the National Airspace System (NAS), aviation weather, aviation safety, ethical airmanship, FAA Registration, and community-based safety guidelines.
Working knowledge of UAV related computer applications and the ability to quickly learn new computer software
