GENERAL FUNCTION
The Digital Litigation Counsel position will support all divisions of EssilorLuxottica's North American business, with a focus on commercial litigation and regulatory matters involving -digital- issues such as data security, collection, analysis, and use, electronic consumer communications, and website accessibility, and serve as a critical liaison between outside counsel and internal clients.
POSITION DETAILS
The position will report (either directly or indirectly) into the head of EssilorLuxottica's North American Litigation Team
Primary responsibilities will include:
Managing all types of -digital- litigation, including those referred to above
Providing legal advice and counsel on a variety of topics related to digital technology
Working cooperatively with the eCommerce legal team and Privacy team to support them in carrying out their functions in relation to digital technology
In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Digital Litigation Counsel will support the day-to-day general functions of the Litigation Team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
JD from an accredited law school and excellent academic background
Licensed to practice law in relevant state
Minimum 4 years of experience with private law firm or corporate legal department (or a combination thereof) in commercial litigation, including substantial experience working on litigation involving digital issues and class actions
Superior writing, communication, and research skills
Organized and detail oriented
Ability to interact with all levels and all lines of business and clients
Motivated, self-starter
Ability to work independently, yet collaborate effectively with other attorneys, paralegals, and business partners
Flexible and able to think on feet
Ability to adapt to constantly shifting priorities, and allocate resources appropriately
Experience negotiating legal fee arrangements
Experience with eDiscovery, including work with technical resources and vendors, and records management
Outgoing and friendly personality

Retail industry experience
